Reunion Wrapup

There are currently two pages of our 50th Reunion pictures. Please keep sending them in. We'd love tohave a dozen pages.

We held our 50th Reuion at the Brookside Country Club on the weekend of August 26-27, 2011. Those of you who attended should receive ONE solicitation from Raines Video Productions to purchase a 90 minute DVD of their interviews with attendees who wanted to talk to them. If you didn't receive the solicitation and would like to purchase a DVD, click on the Update Form at the bottom of the page and ask for particulars. We'll email them to you.

We had about 150 attend the Friday get-together and nearly 200 for the Saturday dinner. About 30 took a tour of the Muir campus on Saturday. It was our largest turnout ever.

We are working on having pictures up quickly. Please send any you have to pictures@muir61.org and we'll include them here.

Your Part of Our Story

We started to gather "Your Part of Our Story" just before the reunion. It was a huge hit. We created a small booklet of replies at the reunion and are starting a page of replies here on the site.

Every one of us has a story to tell that matters -- especially to those who knew us best at Muir. We hope everyone in the class will tell us at least some of that story, because it adds up to so rich a tapestry of experience. Here's the response form on which you can share as much of your own part of that as you'd like to, and as the form provides, what you relate will only be shared in the way you want it to be.

Here are the stories to date.

Muir Cruise

While not too many went on the cruise, it was "a blast" according to those who went. Haven't heard that slang in a long time.

Altadena Elementary

An Altadena Elementary alum who didn't attend Muir wishes to make contact with other Altadena alums. If you attended, please click here for details.

We recommend that you register with the John Muir Alumni Association. There is a link on every page on this site to encourage you to do so. They will respect your wishes if you chose not to be included in the alumni directory. If you are concerned about your privacy but still want to find your old classmates, you can get a "throw-away" email account from Yahoo or Hotmail and use that as your only link. If you begin to receive improper replies, you can simply never go back to the email account again. Yahoo and Hotmail will turn off the account if you abandon it for 30 days.

If you have a new email address or know of other classmates' email addresses, please fill out the form at the bottom of every page on the site. We want as many of our classmates as possible to be informed of our reunion plans. We will not use this information for any purpose other than contacting you regarding reunion or class news. We have even refused to provide our database to the Alumni association because our terms of use prohibit us divulging the information to third parties. If you want to be registered with the Alumni Association, you have to do that yourself.

Thanks for checking in! Your reunion committee: Dick Snyder, Elise Stevens Richardson, Cheryl Alexander Peralta, Patricia Magoffin, Jim Stanbery, Trina Vorwerk Karol, Larry Tharp, Jack Setian, Larry Gilmour, Joe Borland and Toby Scott.
